Five Ways to Hold Yourself Accountable

Lately a question that has come up in my client calls a ton has been “How do I hold myself accountable?”

And HAVE I GOT YOUR BACK WITH THIS.

First, I want you to know that struggling to hold yourself accountable is totally understandable and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with you.

Second, no two humans are the same, so accountability looks different for everyone. The trick is to find the solutions that work best for you.

And third, of course - is that while these concepts are simple, that doesn’t necessarily make them easy. But, alas, awareness is the first step, so let’s dive into some of the top hacks for holding yourself accountable.

KNOW YOUR WHY

  • Why do you wanna lose weight?

  • Why do you want to make a Reel on Instagram every day?

  • Why do you love your business?

What is the root driver that keeps you going every day and gets you out of bed? Write it down, and look at it every day. Remembering your why will help you take aligned action on the reg.

SET MINI-GOALS

The bigger the task, the less likely you are to finish it. Did you know that?

Instead of looking at the big end goal, break that down into much smaller chunks.

For example: Say I want to do 30 days worth of Instagram reels. I’m not gonna dive right in and try to do 30 the first week. Nah, I’m going to shoot for one per day instead.

CREATE A SCHEDULE

Those 30 reels? I’m going to put them in my calendar for the same time every day. Blocking your schedule will help you know what you’re working on and when

(A visual calendar is your BFF when trying to hold yourself accountable. )

CELEBRATE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

And I mean, like EVERY accomplishment. You playing small does not serve anyone.

  • A client paid their invoice? CELEBRATE!

  • You made it through a week of reels creation? YEAH BABY!

  • You got out of bed? WOOT WOOT!

  • You remember deodorant? HUZZAH!

Celebrating wins–no matter the size–allows you to appreciate and enjoy the process, so you’re more likely to hold up your end of the deal because you’re having fun.

SEEK FEEDBACK + SUPPORT

My clients are so self-aware that when they come to me, they already KNOW accountability is something they struggle with, and that I can help them break through the barriers holding them back from their dream life + business.

Sometimes the easiest way to hold yourself accountable is to involve a coach or mentor, and that’s totally cool.

That’s what I’m here for. :)
